Shiitake Sencha Green Tea
Sencha green tea is a traditional Chinese organic green tea that is deep steamed and carefully dried. About 75% of Japanese tea production is devoted to sencha, and understandably, the quality of each harvest varies. To develop our shiitake sencha green tea, we take the highest-grade sencha leaves available and combine it with our finest dried shiitake mushrooms. These two ingredients are the key to developing an astringent, sweet, grassy, and savory cup of tea loaded with nutrients. Sencha green tea already has several well-documented health benefits that include boosting your metabolism and energy levels, protecting and rejuvenating your skin, strengthening your immune system, and detoxifying your body. But did you know that shiitake mushrooms have long been used in many Asian cultures as a remedy for cancer, respiratory diseases, poor blood circulation, liver trouble, exhaustion and weakness, and premature aging? It’s clear that out of all the delicious teas out there, this one just might be the healthiest.

STEP 1: Gather your brewing supplies. You can use a french press that has been used only for tea, a porcelain pot, or any other loose leaf based brewing equipment.
STEP 2: Measure out our eyeball your tea. Four grams a person is the norm.
STEP 3: Use any drinking water that you prefer for your tea, and heat it up to about 185 degrees fahrenheit. Or heat water to a boil and let cool for about thirty seconds.
STEP 4: Infuse your tea for 2-3 minutes. Shorter or longer brewing times can taste delightful as well, but this seems to be the sweet spot.
